Options - Load_Save - General

You might be aware of this already, but when I check the options:

- "Save AutoRecovery information every 5 min"
- "Automatically save the documents too"
- "Always create backup copy"

...the program starts to flicker and rendering text and menus inaccessible.

If I then start a new document while this is going on and uncheck the options mentioned and close the dialog the flickering stops in the first document.

Otherwise thanks for a great office suite. I would have no other.

Strange, I fail to reproduce this using Windows 8 with LibreOffice Version: 4.1.0.4 Build ID: 89ea49ddacd9aa532507cbf852f2bb22b1ace28

Also no problems here:

Windows 8
Version 4.2 daily build from yesterday

Laurent - what version of Microsoft Windows are you running?

Thank you for your follow up guys and sorry for my late reply. And sorry for missing information.

LO version is 4.1.0.4 and OS is Windows 8.

I also forgot to mention that the issue does not appear until the "AutoRecovery" 5 minutes time has elapsed. Then the flickering starts.

I was not able to find the 4.2 daily build, so I have not been able to check it out.

I still can not reproduce this behavior. I entered some text, wait until the 5 minutes time passed by (I saw LibreOffice saving the file). My menu entries does not start to flicker or any other strange behavior.

Sorry to didn't provide the link at once: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86@6-debug/ There we go. It'll install a program 'LibreOfficeDev'. So no settings will be lost. Be sure only to use that program for testing purpose only (not for important documents).

Kind regards,
Joren

Hi Gys,

Joren, I just tried out the 2013-08-25_07.32.33_LibreOfficeDev_4.2.0.0.alpha0_Win_x86 yesterday and I have not gotten any flickering since then. Neither with initially not manually saving (giving the document a name) nor after manually saving. So at least in my case this looks good.

Just a question on the side here. I would like to come with a feature suggestion, but are not able to find any related contact information. Could someone please help me out with this?

Thanks,
LaurentZG

Good. I'm glad to hear that :). Lets mark this bug as RESOLVED WORKSFORME then.

To submit an enhancement request you can file a new bug and change the priority of that bug to 'enhancement'. This is the way we file feature/enhancement requests :-).

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks a lot for your follow up and help Joren!
