Summary: playback stops and hangs alsa-based application when switching from a network sink to an internal sink

Description George Kiagiadakis 2013-08-09 08:14:23 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1) Take an application that connects to pulseaudio via the alsa plugin (let's say flashplayer in firefox, or just "aplay /dev/urandom")
2) Open pavucontrol, switch its sink to a network sink -> it works
3) Switch back to the internal audio sink -> playback stops

If you do it with the flash player, you will also notice that firefox and flash behave weird after that. You can't do anything with flash (although it responds to UI events), you can't refresh the page, etc... The only remedy is to kill pulseaudio.
