I would like if the specifications would allow to use wildcards like "text/*=SciTE.desktop;" and "*=burn.desktop". For example I'm assigning multiple image/* - types to Eye of GNOME and GIMP and multiple video/* - types to the VLC media player. This way the database would be easier to maintain for common mime types and enhance the readability if opened with a text editor.
