Hi, thanks for the report, but ... (In reply to comment #0) > To reproduce please download the ppt from the attachment or the following > link: > > http://www.sendspace.com/file/ksw57d is there a normal add and .exe free place to download that Or did I miss something? Cheers, Cor @Cor you should click on the small light blue rectangle with "Click here to start download from sendspace" text. In sendspace the real download button is the smaller one... all the big "download" buttons are just spam. @hbfregvfreyt876 tested your Impress file on Win7 64bit. I see normal loading time of your .ppt file. slide transition back and forward is smooth. maybe a Linux specific bug? some more infos needed: 1- you say the bug affects ppt/pptx files... what about odp? 2- have you ever tried previous LibO versions? are they slow too with ppt/pptx or it's just about the 4.1.1? @Cor Nouws I have adblock and therefore did not see the spam on the page, but basically it should work as tommy described. @tommy27 Thanks for the quick response, I appreciate it. "1- you say the bug affects ppt/pptx files... what about odp? 2- have you ever tried previous LibO versions? are they slow too with ppt/pptx or it's just about the 4.1.1?" 1- I have not run across and odp with narration in my coursework however, other ones open up quickly with no issues at all. This particular file, even when saved as an odp does not seem to experience a faster startup. 2- Yes, and the presentations used to open much quicker. I noticed this slow performance as of 4.1.1 - but I thought it was a one off occurence that wouldn't show up again. I very much suspect that this is indeed a linux or even a fedora only anomaly. If I may request, can you please try to open this inside a fedora vm in something like Virtualbox, in order to reproduce the conditions as closely as possible. Thanks. @hbfregvfreyt876 sorry I have no experience at all with Linux and virtual machines. I can't do that test. my only contribute here is to tell that it works in Windows. another Linux tester is needed. Hi hb/tommy, thanks for downloading advise :) It opens within few seconds for me on Ubuntu with 4.1.1.2 And I can pagup/down through the slides just fast. @hb: have you tried with a fresh user profile? http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile Unfortunately a fresh profile doesn't resolve this. I would very much appreciate it if someone can open the file under the conditions I have described, as its most probably distro specific. Thanks for your efforts so far. If you are willing, I would be ready to give you all the detailed instructions to run it in a virtual machine. The file is gone.
