tar file of the two example ODS files

see http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/1926/paste-loses-cell-format-in-calc-and-other-pasting-issues/

  libreoffice --version
LibreOffice 4.1.0.4 410m0(Build:4)
installed on Debian Wheezy

see attached file multiline_paste_fails.ods

The following sequence works:
   click line 17
   Right mouse select Copy
line 17 is highlight and has the marching ants animation
put the mouse cursor on cell A19
   Right mouse select Paste

the line is copied into A19:BK19

Copy line 17 again.
Paste it into line 20.
line 20 highlights, but show no data this used to work

Copy line 17 again
Select cells A21:A22 Paste
Text Import window show up OK does nothing
Text Import is the wrong. It should paste 2 copies of the line.

see attached file multiline_paste_fails_2.ods

I also tried this with a New spreadsheet, and the multi-line Paste
does not work there either.

Operating System: Debian
Version: 4.1.0.4 release

I do not reproduce with LO 4.1.3.0.0+ under Ubuntu 13.04 x86-64
Please, could you upgrade your LO version to the current one and try again?

Best regards. JBF

Sorry I left this hanging for so long.

The problem proved to be incompatibility between KDE's klipper and Libre.

Without /usr/bin/klipper running, Libre cut and paste works as expected.
Selecting a range of lines (by sweeping the line numbers)
and pasting to a line number copies the entire selection.

With clipper running, the paste does nothing, without complaint.

But copying a single line and pasting to >> the first cell << of a line works.

I got confused by the bug submission process.
The file names

"clipper" should be "klipper"

Ah yes - we had a similar one and I'm relatively sure it's KDE's bug but I'm requesting dev input to verify. Thanks for the update
Comment 17 Mike Bianchi 2014-05-21 12:16:09 UTC
Is there a simple way to cross-post this bug to KDE?
Comment 18 Joel Madero 2014-05-21 14:58:08 UTC
No - you just have to head to their infra and report the same problem.

(Whiteboard: Removing 'NeedAdvice' as this does seem like a KDE issue at this time)

Mike -- Is there a bug reported in the KDE tracker yet? I took a quick look, but didn't find anything. Please provide a link and then feel free to change status back to 'UNCONFIRMED'.
