Description Bruno Jiménez 2013-10-15 14:36:11 UTC
Hi,

I think I have found a bug in the radeon driver: after a random time using my PC the screen turns to black and then I'm thrown back to the login screen, and after I log in this happens again after a few moments.

Looking in my journals, I have found this at, more or less, the moment of the problem:

kernel: radeon 0000:01:00.0: GPU lockup CP stall for more than 10000msec
kernel: radeon 0000:01:00.0: GPU lockup (waiting for 0x000000000000954e last fence id 0x000000000000954d)
systemd-coredump[1999]: Process 240 (Xorg) dumped core.

Currently I am using Arch Linux with its mesa-git repo (everything upgraded). My card is an AMD Radeon HD 5470.

This started happening after I change to the mesa-git repo, but not from the begining of using it.

If there's anything I can do to help, just ask.

Thanks in advance!

Can you use git to bisect mesa and find out which commit causes the problem?

Please attach your xorg log and dmesg output.

Here are the contents of dmesg and xorg log. They have been taken after I 'relogined' in after being thrown to the login screen.

If you need something else, just ask.

As for the git bisect thing, I'm afraid that I will need a little help there. As I have said, I'm using Arch's mesa-git repo, and I don't know how can I use bisect with it.
