Spreadsheet which demonstrates the problem

Steps to reproduce:

1. open attached spreadsheet
2. select columns G to M
3. right-click on the column headings and delete all selected columns
4. select lines 24 to 47
5. right-click on the line headings and delete all selected lines

Expected:

The borders that were in the delete columns and lines are gone.

Actual:

Deleting columns did clear the borders around the deleted cells, but the borders around the deleted rows are still there.

please post a comparative screenshot "pre" and "post"

I tried your instructions but I do not reproduce it under Win7 64bit (LO 4.1.4.2)

The two screenshots are the "before & after" of the steps in the bug description.

The exact version of LibreOffice (using the package from Debian sid) is:

  Version: 4.1.4.2
  Build ID: 410m0(Build:2)

Here's a short screencast of me opening the attached spreadsheet and following the steps.

thanks for the video.
now I reproduce it on Win7 with 4.1.4 and many older LibO releases up to 3.3.3 (I have no earlier 3.3.x versions to test) and with AOO 4.0.0 as well.

anyway the issue seems due to the fact that those borders are a kind of external frame superimposed over cells but it's not a real cell border.

try right clicking on it and you will see that that that frame can be moved where you want.

so basically you were thinking of deleting cell with borders but infact you were deleting cells without borders who had a "fake" border frame over them.

I mark this as RESOLVED NOTABUG

Ah you're quite right, there's an extra border floating above the spreadsheet in the left columns. I hadn't noticed that.

Sorry about the noise, but thanks very much for taking the time to look into it anyways.
