attached screengrab says it all. that's xmatrix running under debrix @ 16bpp
(24bpp doesn't do accelerated offscreen pixmaps). the chunks appear to be from
a previous X session.

workaround: Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps".

doesn't happen with 6.7.0-release. need to check HEAD.

it's worse than i thought; offscreen pixmap accel is broken in tdfx too (where
both 16 and 24bpp have it accelerated).
Comment 2 Daniel Stone 2004-07-01 21:03:00 UTC
and I think you'll find it was broken in nv, too.

I'm pretty sure that if you back out this morning's changes to
render/{filter,picture}.c and include/picturestr.h, you'll find the root (heh)
of all the offscreen pixmap issues. I had an issue where they would almost
never display, and those changes fixed it. I had to back out damage and xfixes
support while I was at it, however, and didn't get time to drop those back in.

the old debrix tree is dead, this should get handled during the next HEAD import.
Comment 4 Adam Jackson 2008-02-24 18:22:03 UTC
Mass reopen. The "LATER" resolution is lame, I'm deleting it. Consider LATER to have arrived.

Debrix is very, very, very dead.
