Do not install executables here, they probably ought to go in $(libexecdir) instead." but libexecdir is meant for executables that are only meant to be run by other apps and not users directly. I just don't want to put it in /usr/bin as they should not be visible to anyone but people who want to use the demos and look for them. $(libexecdir) is fine for this, this is where we put gnome-settings-daemon debug programs.
