disabled
enabled

This is not Schrodinger's quantum screensaver, so it should be one or the other.
:-) 

In this case my system is configured to turn on the screen saver after several
minutes.

Environment: SUSE 10.0/Gnome 2.12.0

Test xdg-screensaver/t.01-screensave_status now covers this case.
