Description stephane.raimbault 2014-04-29 21:31:17 UTC
I updated to the kernel 3.14 provided by Archlinux (https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/linux&id=b29f29eb9641d5abcdcd3a5a70c73999c0cf1557) and I'm not able to boot without passing radeon.modeset=0 to the kernel command line.

The kernel 3.13 from package 3.13.8-1-ARCH is working properly.

Please attach your xorg log and dmesg output from the working kernel. Can you bisect?

Xorg log from journalctl (journalctl /usr/bin/Xorg)

/var/log/Xorg.0.log is now a file of the past!

Yes I can git bisect, I just need to setup a kernel dev env!
Comment 5 stephane.raimbault 2014-06-26 08:21:39 UTC
Fixed with Linux 3.15.

My previous comment was wrong the bug isn't fixed at all with recent kernel and still present.
Comment 8 Alex Deucher 2014-07-11 13:20:09 UTC
Any progress on the bisecting? Can you try Linus git tree? There were several evergreen fixes that went into 3.16 that may help.
