I use xkeyboard-config with the evdev driver for my keyboard.
xkeyboard-config is missing a definition of key LSGT to code 94 in
keycodes/evdev which makes <, > and | unavailable.
Simply adding the line <LSGT> = 94; after <RTRN> = 36; in the default
xkb_keycodes "evdev" section helped.
