Description Shawn Starr 2014-06-26 15:25:03 UTC
When trying to manage a VM with virt-manager, opening a KVM guest in SPICE (via virt-manager) I am able to use mouse in the VM but keyboard input is not working.

libwayland-server-1.5.0-2.fc21.x86_64
libinput-0.2.0-2.fc21.x86_64

For any debug let me know what you need and I will get this.

Thanks,
Shawn

This seems to be working in 1.5.0, will close pending further testing
Comment 2 Peter Hutterer 2014-07-22 00:33:58 UTC
Any update on this? this is unlikely a libinput bug tbh provided that the guest's devices are set up normally.

sorry, I lost the IRC conversation we had. Is this still broken?
Comment 4 Spider 2014-11-04 20:19:27 UTC
This is still an issue with:
wayland-1.6.0-1.fc21.x86_64
libwayland-server-1.6.0-1.fc21.x86_64
libinput-0.6.0-2.fc21.x86_64

I strongly suspect this may be QEMU-KVM thats broken but I can't be sure. Need to see if wayland is working in radeon again soon.

Could you please explain what the architecture is here?

Are you using Wayland on the host or the guest system or both?
What is running in the guest system that is not getting keyboard input?
Is Xwayland involved in any way?
What are the compositors or display servers involved?
What exactly are the components that use libinput here?
Comment 7 Shawn Starr 2015-05-19 18:27:53 UTC
Let me get back to this, a lot has changed.
Comment 8 Peter Hutterer 2016-04-22 04:58:00 UTC
in needinfo for almost a year, let's just close it for now and re-open it if it's still an issue.
