drm_error.log

Device: Celeron 2955U, Acer C720 (4GB RAM).
OS: Arch Linux X86-64, kernel 3.15.5
Driver: intel-dri 10.2.4, xf86-video-intel 2.99.914, mesa 10.2.4

This is an "easy" freeze of an app which is temporary.
A much "harder" freeze (which I wasn't able to grab logs for) will make the whole desktop unresponsive and will require reboot (can't change tty).
Comment 1 dhead666 2014-08-03 23:08:13 UTC
journalctl output (reversed)

kernel: [drm] Enabling RC6 states: RC6 on, RC6p off, RC6pp off
kernel: [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
kernel: [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.
kernel: [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
arch-720 kernel: [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
kernel: [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
kernel: [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 0:0x87d3bffa, in gnome-shell [603], reason: Ring hung, action: reset
kernel: [drm] stuck on render ring

p.s.

Forgot to add that I'm using SNA but I've experienced the same phenomenon with UXA and Glamor.
Also this isn't a kernel regression, I will be able to test next week 3.16rcX.
