Acer H274HL ICM ICC profile file

Turns out that Acer provides a .icm and .inf file for my H274HL monitor, as the zip file that they call "monitor drivers". That .icm file is attached.

However, I never manage to get it to import in gnome-control-center 3.12's color settings.

after clearing ~/.local/share/icc/, I tried importing using gnome-control-center. Saw this in the terminal:

(gnome-control-center:7253): color-cc-panel-WARNING **:
failed to get imported profile: The profile was not added in time

...but the file is copied to ~/.local/share/icc/H274HL.icm !

But it never appears in the available choices of profiles to choose from, even after restarting the gnome control center.

I also see these warnings all the time in the terminal:

(gnome-control-center:7335): color-cc-panel-WARNING **: /var/lib/gdm/.local/share/icc/edid-bac55489a441847ba28d0caccecfc9cc.icc is not usable by this user

(gnome-control-center:7335): color-cc-panel-WARNING **: /var/lib/gdm/.local/share/icc/edid-85099c6b11e3bb4fa48c53202cb4384a.icc is not usable by this user

Kinda confused why gdm is coming into the mix; can you describe your system and set up a bit more please -- thanks.

Hmm, this is Fedora 20 64-bits with your GNOME 3.12 repo. What other information would you like me to provide?
Comment 4 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2014-09-25 01:36:54 UTC
So, as I said this was on Fedora 20 with the GNOME 3.12 COPR... but testing with the official GNOME 3.14 release test ISO image today, I'm not encountering this particular issue there.

ViewSonic VX2450 icm ICC profile file

I hit this problem with recent colord in Gnome 3.14. In early versions of Gnome (~2010, May) import works

colormgr import-profile --verbose ~/Desktop/VX2450_SERIES.ICM
The profile was not added in time

LANG=C colormgr --version
Client version:	1.2.9
Daemon version:	1.2.9
System vendor:	MSI
System model:	MS-7673
