libinput 0.5.0 links static library, 0.6.0 doesn't, --enable-static doesn't do anything now?

Also, --disable-shared in 0.6.0 gives configure error, while libinput 0.5.0 can disable shared library without any problems.

I see "Disable static libraries" by Peter Hutterer in 0.6.0 commit shortlog, what was the reason behind this decision?
