Under Ubuntu 14.04LTS

Spelling is not working.  No language is selected and not able to select the language or change the text language .  Ex. french.  I'm in a loop where it's not possible to select the language for correction purposes.  When I press F7 the text language box is unselected (empty) and spellcheck collapse.

Hi, language is a character attribute that you can set using the Format > Character dialog or Format > Paragraph dialog. Could you check that the language is correctly defined here, that you have a FR spellcheck installed (a blue check in the language drop down list). Setting the language here indicate which spell check is being used. Thanks - Setting as Needinfo - Sophie
