Description Ken Berry 2014-10-09 19:15:56 UTC
Windows XP, version 4.2.6.3, .doc file saved as 97/2000/XP/2003.

Writer occasionally corrupts - trying to open reveals a message that "This is not a WinWord 97 file". No success opening with other modalities. TextViewer cannot open, but recognizes the file as a WinWord 2.0 file, but converter has no effect. My .bak file is ok, but tedious importing. I have an UPS, but have encountered no power problems. I am experimenting with whether I am saving, and then exiting, without closing first, but I try to be careful about that.

This is just not enough information for us to do anything. We need clear reproducible steps. I know it's frustrating with these kinds of issues but there is really nothing we can do with this info. Marking as NEEDINFO.

If you can provide clear steps, please set to UNCONFIRMED. Providing a sample file also would be needed.
