I have an Ubuntu 14.10 system and a Intel DQ35JO motherboard with and integrated video chipset. I'm using the UXA backend because of another (unrelated?) problem with the default SNA backend. After some hours of use new windows become completely black, and I'm forced to blindly close all programs and log out of the system. xserver-xorg-video-intel current version is 2.99.914-1.

P.S. I'm waiting for the release of a version of Intel Graphics Installer that I can install on my Ubuntu 14.10 system, for testing.

I can reproduce the same exact problem even with the Glamor backend. In Xorg logs for both UXA and Glamor I noticed the following error:

(EE) intel(0): Failed to submit batch buffer, expect rendering corruption: Resource deadlock avoided.

I have no idea of its meaning.

You would have better success talking about what issue you face with SNA, 2.99.914 is quite old at this point.

Unfortunately I cannot use SNA because of bug 75368. It seems I'm out of options, as all backends (SNA, UXA and Glamor) don't work as expected. I'm forced to use the Vesa driver at the moment.

That's not a bug in SNA though...
