Description Marc-Andre Lureau 2014-11-10 15:18:10 UTC
Modifying a file/folder in the shared folder isn't seen without a refresh in the guest. It would be great to add a filesystem "notify". Although there has been several attempt to add it to the webdav RFC, there is still no standard for that.

Some webdav discussions:

For Spice, we could use an out of band protocol addition.

Once libsoup has webdav support, it would be fun and relatively easy to create a custom channel for subscribing to changes on a folder/collection (that's essentially how smb does, so I guess that's enough for a filesystem protocol)

It's essentially just a phodav & gvfs implementation then.

Eventually, it might be a good idea to write an IETF RFC about this.
