First I'm using colord 1.2.1 and gnome-color-manager 3.14.1

I've been printing since years on an Epson 3880 with a proper screen profile for my display. I'm using an home made printer profile to convert my tiff before sending it to the printer using EoG.

Since 3 or 4 months (I cannot remmeber now!) I had print issues. That is the print is not good with a string pink/red tint. I've been suspecting CUPS at some point (se Debian bug tracker #763517).

After many tries I have now found the issue. The screen profile set with gnome-color-manager and handled by colord mess with the print.

I've conducted 2 experiments to be sure:

1. I've created a new user on my machine and I have printed a picture. The print is ok.

2. In this new user I have assigned the display profile I use for my account. The display was then correct but then the print has this redish color cast.

3. In my account, where the print was not correct, I have disabled the screen profile. This display is wrong but the print is now correct.

So this seems to indicate that somehow the screen profile is used at some point by the print architecture.

Can you attach the output of "colormgr dump" please. I'm a little stumped what could cause this, other than eog sending the screen color corrected image to the printer rather than the original content, which would be a bit crazy.

Agreed I don't see why EoG would even look at the ICC profile. It just has to display the picture and let the display do its job.

Okay, so colord isn't applying the printer profile. I think this is probably an EOG bug. You can confirm this by turning off the display correction in gnome-control-center and then printing something from a newly launched eog.

Sure I can confirm that turning off the profile in g-c-c for my screen fix this issue. This is in my initial report.

I just had a look at the EoG code in Git and there is no colord code at all in EoG. I have tested with Shotwell and the print is ok!

So EoG seems to be the culprit indeed. I'll report there.

I hope to see this fixed after month investigating and many many test print :)
