Missing paste option in context menu - screenshot

Description 2460acc 2014-12-18 14:33:10 UTC
I copied some text from a pdf document and tried to right click paste it into Writer. However there is no paste option in the context menu. I am using the French language version if that matters (paste is "coller" in French).

it works for me under Win8.1 with LO 4.3.4.1

are you sure it was not a protected PDF?

What was the PDF reader you used? What is your operating system?
Comment 3 2460acc 2014-12-19 08:33:36 UTC
Windows7 64 bit
Adobe Acrobat Reader 11.0.10
LO 4.3.4.1

Note that CTRL-V works to paste the text, but the context menu has no paste opeion and the main menu (Edit->Paste) has it greyed out.

While on the topic of paste, is there any way to do a paste without the formatting? I always have to paste into Notepad then copy from there to lose the formatting. Would be nice to have the option :)

Use Google. Anyway, the option you look for is in the Paste Special dialog. Press Ctrl+Shift+V for quick access to it.

Hi, could you attach the .pdf you used so we can try to reproduce the problem. Thanks - Sophie

Example pdf file

Copy a line from the pdf and try to paste into LO. You can do it with CTRL-V but not the menus.

Missing paste option in context menu - screenshot

I installed LO 4.3.5.2 and still have the same issue.

Just to confirm:

Win7 64 bit pro
LO 4.3.5.2
Acrobat 11.0.10

Uploaded a screenshot of trying to paste with right click.
Comment 10 tommy27 2015-01-06 10:10:47 UTC
try resetting the user profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile )

I confirm the "paste" item exists in my LibO 4.3.5.2 under Win8.1 x64
Comment 11 2460acc 2015-01-06 13:53:57 UTC
I renamed my profile user-old and a new one was generated. Paste is still missing from the menus.

Thanks for your suggestion tho.

Hi, tried with your pdf sample and was able to paste without problem from the contextual menu. I'm using a French version too. Sophie

Sounds like this has been a stickler to reproduce:
Summary -> (hard to repro)

(In reply to 2460acc from comment #9)
> Win7 64 bit pro
> LO 4.3.4.1 (or 4.3.5.2)
> Acrobat 11.0.10
And: French language localization

Tommy/Sophie: How close are our test setups to that configuration?

- Windows version:
- LO Version:
- PDF Viewer + version:
- French language?
