Description Josef Bauer 2004-07-16 02:25:42 UTC
hi,

i found a reproducible bug that causes X and linux kernel to hang up:

start x server 1: startx
su - hans
start x server 2: startx -- :1 -xf86config xorg.conf.hans
switch to xserver 1
switch to xserver 2
switch to xserver 1
everything well but:
wait 24 hours
switch to xserver 2
-> immediate kernel freeze (e.g. no mouse movement, no ping response, ...)

xf86config, xf86config.hans, Xorg.0.log and `diff Xorg.0.log Xorg.1.log appended.

I'm experiencing the same thing with 7.0 RC 4
Comment 2 Erik Andren 2006-05-19 04:48:07 UTC
Fabio please post your xorg.conf, xorg.log
Comment 3 Mike A. Harris 2006-06-10 02:18:19 UTC
Use bugzilla's file attachment feature for attaching logs and config files
and any other lengthy text file to a bug, rather than pasting massive files
into bug reports.

The reason for this is that humongous files pasted into a report make it
very difficult to scroll through the bug and read comments easily as you
have to scroll over a 30 foot long log file. As such, most developers
tend to just ignore bug reports that someone has pasted massive files
into the comment box. Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I personally
tend to block such bugs out of my mind, and it seems others do as well.

Just a tip for filing good bug reports. You may want to open a new one
properly, and close this one.

Just a suggestion...
Comment 4 Fabio Bonelli 2006-09-24 06:51:54 UTC
I'm sorry Erik, but I've changed machine and this one don't have an AGP slot,
thus I can't test again the G400 and its driver.

Bugzilla Upgrade Mass Bug Change

NEEDSINFO state was removed in Bugzilla 3.x, reopening any bugs previously listed as NEEDSINFO.
