Description Josh Boyer 2015-02-17 15:14:09 UTC
This morning I booted Linus' latest tree which is after the DRM merge. I have a MacBookPro 10,2 that produces the following backtrace:

Please add drm.debug=14 module parameter and provide dmesg from boot to problem.
Comment 2 Jani Nikula 2015-02-17 16:41:36 UTC
Best guess before further info, bios is silly and enables audio on eDP.

drm.debug=14 dmesg

Requested dmesg.

And it's a macbook. So the firmware is guaranteed to be stupid.
Comment 4 Jani Nikula 2015-02-18 13:10:16 UTC
Yes, looks like the firmware is stupid. But in theory we could also get the warning by forcing audio on for eDP port A. Needs to be fixed, but there's no need to worry about the warning per se. It's a sanity check, which accomplished its intented purpose by detecting insanity.

OK, thanks. I wasn't overly worried about it other than the fact that it will get auto-filed by things like ABRT. I could probably just locally comment it out if it becomes an issue.
