In general, temperature control in laptops is the responsibility of the system firmware rather than the graphics driver, because cooling is handled at a system level with interrelated cooling parts that combine cooling of the GPU, CPU, memory, and other components. It sounds like your laptop's cooling is inadequate to handle the heat generated by the GPU when it's running at full performance. I would recommend verifying that all of the fans are working and that the system is free of dust and other airflow obstructions. I have tlp and indicator-cpufreq installed nothing helps my fans are running ok and as I stated when I have nouveau active the temperature is as low as 58 it only goes crazy whenever I activate nvidia driver May be it's a little bit better with 346 but the issue with chrome memory utilization still persists which is definitely something to do with the driver. |
