How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Prepare a spice win7 guest: (Detail see attachment)

2. Use virt-viewer to launch the guest in fullscreen:

3. Move the mouse pointer of top of "leave fullscreen"/.../exit control bar

4. Press ctrl with minus

5. Repeat steps 4 more than 5 times.

This should be fixed in virt-viewer.
In case it isn't, please reopen the bug with logs from remote-viewer (--spice-debug) and version for spice-gtk and remote-viewer.

Thanks for the report!

The bug still exists. There is a difference between linux a windows driver behavior - linux will not allow you to go to higher resolution if there is not enough memory (it will not change the resolution). Windows will switch to the highest possible resolution, even if it does not respect the aspect ratio -> causing "black bars".
