Description Stephen Gildea 2006-11-17 18:18:25 UTC
Inspired by the discussion at bug #8996, I've written an option
that tries to undo mapping Right Alt key as ISO_Level3_Shift.

Some layouts map the Right Alt key as ISO_Level3_Shift. For
people who want the level3 shift elsewhere, there are options
to add a mapping for other keys to the level3 shift, but to be
able to move an existing mapping, there also needs to be a way
to remove it from Right Alt. This patch attempts to do that,
by binding Right Alt to Alt_R.

My patch is against symbols/level3 rev 1.15, post xkeyboard-config 0.9.

I think the same problem applies to the french canadian ISO_Level5_Shift
modifier mapped on the right Control key.
It is named “Contrôle, sélection de groupe” and activated by “include "level5
(rctrl_switch)"”. It is defined in the files symbols/level5 and compat/level5
but the latter shoudn’t require being patched.
Greetings, Fabian.
