Kernel config file
Suspect here is iommu. Could you please try rebooting with intel_iommu=igfx_off on your kernel command line. Yes, Using intel_iommu=igfx_off seems to fix the problem. I also had to update to a newer X (I was using 1.14). Using 1.17 I have a weird problem with xf86-video-intel. Videos (like camera input) or VLC diplay with artifacts. Does not happen if I use modeset for Xorg (instead of intel). Thanks for the info on intel_iommu=igfx_off. |

Created attachment 116974 [details] Error log I compiled Kernel 4.1.1 for a Dell Inspiron 3543. Ubuntu 15.04 (with kernel 3.19.0-15) seems to work OK with it. My compiled kernel has this GPU hang.
