nothing strange
Are you using xf86-video-nouveau from git? That will have enabled DRI3 which is known to have issues. Can you provide your xorg log? Created attachment 117331 [details]

Xorg log
(In reply to Ilia Mirkin from comment #2) > Are you using xf86-video-nouveau from git? That will have enabled DRI3 which > is known to have issues. > > Can you provide your xorg log? oibaf ppa does install xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (1:1.0.11+git1507150732.5212db~gd~v) while xorg-edgers ppa installs xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (1:1.0.11+git20150723.5212dbd7-0ubuntu0sarvatt~vivid) I will check if forcing xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (1:1.0.11-1ubuntu2build1) is solving the problem. Thanks a lot for your information Mauro Hi, I've checked with both xorg-edgers and oibaf PPA drivers and forcing the stable version of xserver-xorg-video-nouveau is solving the black borders problem. [on Ununtu 15.04] sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-nouveau=1:1.0.11-1ubuntu2build1 Thanks a lot, these xorg artifacts were bugging me since weeks Mauro |

Created attachment 117329 [details] what I see on Ubuntu 15.04 When installing oibaf ppa mesa 10.7.0devel, and also xorg edgers mesa 10.6.x, on all Nvidia GPUs I've checked (GT210, GT560, GT610, GT640), all windows show a thick black border, having always the same quantized size (could be power of 2), instead of window border elements. Attaching image and boot, kernel and xorg log. I am available to provide further log/traces if necessary. Mauro
