It would be very useful if there was an explicit option to disable X11 support, so that it could be disabled even if libx11 is installed.

On waffle side there is still a link-time dependency of libX11/libxcb (if built with it).

Currently piglit as a whole does a massive job of over-linking. If we are to move and rip out glut (leaving only waffle), most of it can be dropped easily.

Not 100% what you're asking about, but I thought I mention it for anyone interested.
