Please check if you have enabled floating point texture support. If you don't want to go the manual build road there is the oibaf's PPA. Alternatively (apart from Grigori's suggestion) I would suggest grabbing your distribution source package and tweaking it to your liking. In some cases it's impossible to include all the distro specifics in a single generic wiki page :) Yeah, indeed looks like an user error. Please follow the build instructions for your distribution.
