The official name is in fact "DejaVu Sans Oblique", and that name is used where possible. It is true that in user interfaces it usually ends up in the 'italic' slot, but thats just convention. And yes, there is a policy of preserving the shapes from Vera, so there are no plans I'm aware of to make it a true italic. |
