Created attachment 120590 [details] Contains Dmesg contents (with drm.debug=0x06) and Xorg log My Samsung laptop screen experiences tearing when using SNA acceleration in Ubuntu 15.10. Setting "TearFree" to "true" in the X configuration fixes this... but when certain things happen, the tearing comes back, and the only way to stop it is to log out and log back in, which restarts the X server. The aforementioned certain things are: * mate-screensaver is activated * Screen powers off after a period of time, per Ubuntu power settings Activating the MATE screensave alone doesn't break it, and neither does just letting the screen power off. *Both* have to happen to break the TearFree. I have attached a tarball containing both the dmesg contents (with drm debug lever 0x06) and the X log. Best wishes, Phillip
