[drm] GPU HANG: ecode 3:0:0x6affbfc1, in X [267], reason: Ring hung, action: reset

I've started getting GPU these hangs after upgrading to Xorg 1.18 and xf86-video-intel-git. I was previously using Xorg 1.17 and xf86-video-intel-2.99.917 and
no problems were observed.

The hangs only happened when using Firefox, but that's what I use the most on this computer, so I don't know if it's statistically significant. Restarting Xorg
allows for another few hours of normal usage until the next hang happens.

Hardware:

Intel Corporation Mobile 945GSE Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
(Asus EEEPC 1000)

Versions:

Xorg: 1.18.0
xf86-video-intel: git master
libdrm: 2.4.65
kernel: 4.3.4
mesa: 11.0.7

Error dump attached.
