This isn't something we can fix, sorry. The touchpad can only track two fingers at a time, once you put a third finger down we cannot track that position. This makes it hard to figure out where the fingers are and thus thumb/palm detection cannot work. IIRC we had some code to work around this but it was too unreliable, so we ripped it out and went for the simple and predictable "don't put a third finger down when two-finger scrolling" approach instead. On the positive side, some kernel changes we've been working on should make the touchpad capable of 5 touches, which then means we can fix this bug.
