Description chasseco 2016-02-04 06:16:20 UTC
I can boot up my system to console perfectly alright, I can switch between consoles no problems before I start X Windows.

Once I start X Windows however CTRL+ALT+Fn results in all consoles other than the X-Windows Windows CTRL-ALT-F7 being blank.

If I exit X-Windows I again have no console and all consoles are blank at this point however I can issue instructions via the console and I know that they get executed I.E

Reboot will reboot the machine and the console will return to normal operating state.

startx will relaunch X and everything barring switching to text consoles will work correctly in XWindows until I CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE back to the shell.

I don't know what to do at this stage to further diagnose this issue which only seems to happen when exiting X.
