Description Simon Triebenbacher 2006-12-22 08:16:24 UTC
Hello once again,

yesterday I tried the new driver (1.2.3) because Kubuntu 6.10 had just
distributed the 1.2.1 version. Now the accelerated driver worked fine. But the
only video mode I could use was 1280x1024. When I tried to use 1024x768 (the
resolution of my display) every pixel on my screen displayed a different color
and then became white and afterwards black and the machine hang completely. An
interesting fact might be that when I connected my other TFT display to the VGA
port of my laptop and changed the video mode to 1280x1024 the TFT got a signal
but it said that it does not support a HSync of 39kHz and a VSync of 39Hz. I'm
really sorry for bothering you again, but I hope you appreciate the feedback. If
I should post my bugreports elsewhere please tell me so. As I already told you
yesterday I would be happy to provide debug info to you.

Best regards

Simon Triebenbacher

I just could use a 1280x1024 resolution and when I moved the windows their
contents went wild. Then I tried to set '*Option "NoAccel" "*/on/*"' in the
xorg.conf and the messed up windows were gone but everything was breathtakingly
slow. Since I would really like to use my laptop I would appreciate a working
graphics driver. Maybe you find the time to add support for my system in the
trident driver. I'd be happy to help you by providing you with debug info. My*
machine is an Elite Group 532 with a XGI Volari XP5m32 graphics chip.
