Picture of screen output
Screen is filled with colored stripes.
When I use the kernel config from CI system (LOCALVERSION with gfxbench in it), I do not seem to have a problem, but the Ubuntu defconfig leads to this error. Compare fbcon/fbdev setup. First guess would be the BIOS scanout at 0 being overwritten without being disabled. But that should only be temporary. i915 platform = SKL The last two lines of the dmesg repeat indefinitely and the boot does not progress forward. Created attachment 122056 [details]

The screen stays black, but boot progresses and I am able to login from serial port to get the dmesg.
Still an issue? The machine is now booting Fedora 24, so would have to test when I get back home. Hi Joonas, this has been months with no response, are you now using Fedora 25? is this still and issue? If the problem is gone please resolve the bug If the problem is still occurs add updated logs and change the bug to reopen (if no response is received in 30 days the bug will be closed) Have not hit this with Fedora, will reopen if I hit again. |
