Description Rui Tiago Matos 2016-03-12 17:40:51 UTC
I'm seeing a long stall with this stack trace on kernel 4.5.0-0.rc7.git0.1.fc24.x86_64 :

[<ffffffffa00a4bd8>] drm_dp_mst_wait_tx_reply+0xa8/0x200 [drm_kms_helper]
[<ffffffffa00a7202>] drm_dp_payload_send_msg+0xd2/0x200 [drm_kms_helper]

[<ffffffffa0044bf5>] drm_mode_set_config_internal+0x65/0x100 [drm]
[<ffffffffa004932f>] drm_mode_setcrtc+0x2ef/0x520 [drm]

[<ffffffff817cdb2e>] entry_SYSCALL_64_fastpath+0x12/0x6d
[<ffffffffffffffff>] 0xffffffffffffffff

This happens only if I have an external monitor connected to this thinkpad x240's dock station.

Using fedora kernels I'm able to say that this started happening between
v4.3-9393-gbd4f203 (good)
and
v4.3-11481-gc5a3788 (bad)

Thanks for reporting the issue. Can you please attach dmesg with drm.debug=0x1e on the latest drm-intel-nightly kernel?

timeout - marking resolved+worksforme. Please reopen this if failure still persist on the latest kernel (preferable from drm-tip).
