I have a lenovo s430, with a intel 4000 card. I use kde 5.
I use an external monitor connected to a mini display port and a other monitor to a mini dvi port. When i use both monitor, laptop internal monitor can be used.

Sometime when i wakeup computer, i get this error.

habitually computer wakeup, i see the login screen of kde... but i can't type in the text box... 

so i do ctrl-alt-backspace... that seem to restart x and that work

i use kernel 4.5.0

that happen sometime without supsens to ram.

i can use only some application and bang that happen... i can continue to use open application, but i can't click on the kde menu desktop, taskbar...

FWIW, I experienced a similar problem on my IVB desktop.  This still happens on 4.6-rc2+, too.

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 with 4.6.0-040600-generic from Mainline Kernel builds and I'm experiencing a similar bug, with this log in dmesg:

[drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe B FIFO underrun

I'm using a 2015 MacBook with

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Broadwell-U Integrated Graphics (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

and when this dmesg line appears, my xorg session completely freeze, only the mouse pointer keeps moving. I can switch to another tty and the system is working normally, restarting XOrg works too
