Description Tatsuyuki Ishi 2016-06-19 06:24:11 UTC
Device: ThinkPad X1 Yoga with i7-6500U

Situation: the screen flash to white on high game loads. The game confirmed to trigger the bug is Minecraft (others not tested).

Step to reproduce:
Play Minecraft with maximum FPS set over 60 (or VSync) and full screen. The screen flashes frequently.
There is no problem if I limit it to 50. Sounds like a overrun for me.
I haven't try window mode.

It doesn't occur for normal use. Chrome has no problem.

No errors are reported in dmesg. OS is Arch Linux.

Please add drm.debug=0x1e module parameter and attach dmesg from boot. You may need to use log_buf_len=4M or bigger to capture everything. Let's see if there's anything there.

Sorry Tatsuyuki for this delay until getting on back to you and on this. Due to this delay and since there have been quite a lot code fixes on this area submitted lately, I would appreciate a lot if you can retest this with the latest kernel (preferable drm-tip fromgit://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/drm-tip). If problem still exist then change status to REOPENED and attach dmesg from both working and non-working cases.
Comment 5 Jari Tahvanainen 2017-05-23 13:27:40 UTC
Timeout - marking resolved+worksforme. Please reopen the bug if problem still persist with the latest kernels (preferable from drm-tip).
