Is there anything else I can try/contribute to this in terms of testing? I am willing to put some time into this, but I'll need some pointers on what test cases to run or patches to try. Stable kernel 4.9.3 fixed this for me (Intel HD Graphics 5500). It contains the following commit amongst others: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit?id=d4cb3fd9b548b8bfe2a712ec920b9ebabd3547ab (In reply to Andrey Vihrov from comment #2) > Stable kernel 4.9.3 fixed this for me (Intel HD Graphics 5500). Created attachment 125878 [details] dmesg-2016-AUG-18.txt I'm running drm-intel-nightly with modesetting driver to (hopefully) help provide additional information, but this error has been occurring during boot on this laptop for all kernels since at least 4.4. I've tried searching for solutions, but most of them seem around problems with having a monitor plugged in. However, I get this error 100% of the time while booting *without* a monitor plugged in. First time reporting a bug here, so please let me know how I can help with more info - dmesg should be attached: Linux cirdan 4.8.0-1-drm-intel-nightly #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Aug 17 20:46:46 MDT 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux
