It's not much help, but 4.10 (drm-intel-nightly preferrably) catpures more information to debug these situations. Any chance you can grab drm-intel-nightly for testing? As suggested, I just installed the drm-intel kernel from git (version 4.10.0-rc2-gb42a13d). I haven't been able to reproduce the problem with this kernel, but I'll keep an eye on it in the next days and will report back on it. After having no problems for the last 3-4 resumes from suspend-to-disk, I just had an issue: The secondary screen was blank and the computer was frozen for a few seconds after the last wakeup. /sys/class/drm/card0/error says no error state collected. Xorg.0.log has nothing regarding the video card. The only thing I could find was these messages in dmesg: [35582.632419] [drm] GuC firmware load skipped [35582.632522] [drm:intel_display_resume] *ERROR* Restoring old state failed with -22 [35583.753334] [drm] RC6 on |

Created attachment 128766 [details] dmesg output after wakeup When waking up from hibernate (suspend-to-disk), the computer is frozen for a few minutes. Then the screen turns black and the computer unfreezes. This is reproducible for me. I'm on a Lenovo ThinkPad T460p with Intel GPU running Gentoo Linux. Software versions: * Linux Kernel 4.9.0 * xf86-video-intel from git (2016-12-06) * Xorg 1.18.4 Attachments: * Excerpt from dmesg * Xorg.log * GPU crash dump from /sys/class/drm/card0/error
