It has turned out that my installation was misconfigured having two versions of the Vulkan driver installed. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99498 On a fresh installation I get the message: "Failed to load Vulkan library." and after that "Failed to initialize video backend!" In this case I am not sure anymore whether this is the right place to report the issue. I realized that libvulkan1 hasn't been installed on the system that's why I got the messages. Now the entire issue is the same like before - when I launch Mario Kart Wii nothing happens than the system freezing... Same issue here on RX 470, seems to not depend on the game (or happens on most). There was some basic debugging done which showed that the command stream doesn't even start to be executed (or the debug code fails to detect it), so it's unclear what's going on. For me the issue seems to be gone in current mesa git + llvm svn. I confirm that the bug has been fixed. Thanks. |
