Using Libre Office Calc for a linear calendar (Month, Day, Item, Address, Time, Cost). After entering data and saving the file, the application is left open for ease in use. Upon selection to view from the computer tray, a cell which previously had data is blank. The data can be recalled using the Undo Arrow. The File Save comes alive again, indicating a need to save the file. This happens on an infrequent basis and I cannot see any pattern to its occurance. Its hard to rely on a calendar which deletes information randomly and without any command. Can anyone help?
Please, could you attach the file? Without the problematic file it is impossible to investigate further. And explain, step by step, what should be done to highlight the problem. Best regards. JBF
Dear Jean-Baptiste, Delay in responding, I forgot about my question using Hotmail only for it. There is no problematic file, the problem is in the Open Office Spreadsheet Calc software.I use very basic files, Spreadsheet 101 stuff. For instance, an expense accumulator sheet, with amounts in a column with a total line. I made an entry, hit Enter to complete the entry,Saved the file but left it open. When I returned to it some time later, the cell where I leftthe cursor was blinking with a line on the left side, similar to the cursor blink in any program.By using the Escape key, the outline of the entire cell returned as it does in the Calc system. Other times I have noticed data missing in a multi-row calendar application I prepared. This occurs in the cell where thecursor is left. Again the file remains open for its use as a calendar. No blinking cursor, just missing words. The missing words can be recreated by using the Undo feature of Calc. Two different problems, somehow connected to the cursos position. I have uninstalled the software twice, but the problems persist. (In reply to comment #2) [...] > There is no problematic file, the problem is in the Open Office Spreadsheet > Calc software. The problematic file is the file in which you see the problem. I can understand that you do not want to publish this file here if it is confidential. But without a file with the particular organization of the data which causes the problem, it is not possible to further investigate. If it is so easy to reproduce the problem, please describe step by step (step 1 : do that ; step 2 : do that ; etc.) what should be done to reproduce the problem. Without reliable data, I will have to close this bug report as invalid. Best regards. JBF
