Created attachment 96180 [details] 2 date fields with character effect title for the first. Hi, My proposal seems to the issue 66914 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66914 but I think it's different. I have a date field formated to show the date with words rather than numbers. But I can't capitalize the first letter of the first word. If I apply the character effect "title" all the words have the first letter capitalized. To bypass this problem, I have to insert 2 fields of date (see the attachment) with the first with character effect "title". So, could we have a new character effect "Capitalize for sentence" in order to capitalize the first letter of a sentence. Besides this enhancement could be used for the date fields with words. Sorry for my poor english. Regards, Thierry
Fielded dates like the example receive autoformat/completion The default lowercase formatting in fr local seems correct for date inputs in that local. With the specific date code (from https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Number_Format_Codes ) of NNNNJ MMMM - I get the correct date entry for French language use-- e.g. "lundi 19 mai" Or, working in en-US if I open a new document, and insert a Field then apply the Date formatting code of NNNND MMMM - I get the expected capitalization -- e.g. "Monday, 19 May" So the auto-formatting and completion is correct and WAD. Also, most formatting actions from the Formatting tool bar or the F11 Formats & Style dialog seem to apply to the fielded date without issue. But, can not use the actions from the Format -> Change case menu, i.e. Sentence case, lower case, upper case, Capitalize every word, or toggle case against dates inserted into these fields. The enhancement would be ability to apply a capitalization style to format the fielded date data. Related to bug 66914--to integrate fielded data into paragraph formatting--but here would be to expose fielded date entry to formatting actions not currently available to use.
