Description Lera 2014-07-16 04:59:37 UTC
If I type “-SUM” in a cell, pop-up tip appears, I press enter to get “-SUM()”, where blinking cursor is between parenthesis, and then I select needed cell range, but it is not recorded in the formula resulting in selected cell range and separate empty formula in the initial cell “=-SUM()”. The bug doesn't occur if I select just some cell after “-” or “+” without formula or if I start with “=”.

Confirmed with LO 3.3.0.4, 4.2.5.2, AOO 4.1.0 on Ubuntu 12.04 x86. Really like inherited from OOO.

I don't know whether it's a bug since pop-up tip appears. If the pop-up not appears should be not a bug.

Lowering the priority, since AFAIK many people usually start with "=" before entering a formula.

Problem is not with pop-up tip, problem is that there is no possibility to set the cell range in the formula starting from “-” or “+” except direct typing. When selecting the range it is not recorded into the formula and it remains empty.

I agree that less people use possibility to enter formulas with “-” or “+”, but it exist, besides that it is very convenient and can safe time.

I confirmed it with LibreOffice 4.3.0.2 on Linux and with LibreOffice 4.3.0.2 on WinXP.
