Description Mirek 2009-04-25 23:47:13 UTC
Hello,

I have problem with TV output settings. I would like set
(S-video, composite, PAL) output. I know, that exists parameter
"TV_Format", but this parameter is ignored by my xserver. Can you
help me with this problem?

Best regards

Miroslav Muller

This is fixed in 2.7.0

Comment 2 Mirek 2009-04-26 12:02:26 UTC
Hello Gordon Jin,

thank you for your quick answer, but this problem is not resolved.
I had read bug 16566 before you wrote about this bug. I describe you what
I did do before this mail.

1) I installed Ubuntu 9.04, Option TV_FORMAT not working
2) I installed xorg 2.7 library from your web, Option TV_FORMAT not working
3) I installed xorg git library from your web, Option TV_FORMAT not working

I would like know, how can I list "xrandr --verbose" with TV parameters (for example PAL) as
shown link:
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=19522

Best regards

I can confirm: TV_FORMAT in xorg.conf

    Option "TV_FORMAT" "PAL"

is not working and results into

(WW) intel(0): Option "TV_FORMAT" is not used

and so we use

(II) intel(0): SDVOB: Choosing default TV format of NTSC-M

xorg-Log:

(II) LoadModule: "intel"
(II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
(II) Module intel: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
        compiled for 1.6.1, module version = 2.7.1
        Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 5.0

yes, currently SDVO TV only support NTSC-M, so it is duplicate with bug #21533
