Overview: when creating a table, it's not possible to put a default value regardless of the data type (except varchar). Steps to Reproduce: 1) create a new table (test) (free mode) 2) create a new integer field (test1) with a default value 3) create a second integer field (test2) with a default value 4) save and close the windows 5) open the table in edit mode - The default value of test1 disappeared - the field test2 disappeared
Hmm, I was going to say this was already a known bug, but I can't find the corresponding report. I know that this happens, it has been reported on the English user list. My understanding is that you can set the default at the Form level, in the properties of the control corresponding to the field for which you wish to set a default, but the underlying field default setting is currently ignored. Alex
It affects all platforms. Alex

Hello, I confirm with LibO 3.4.1 : - The default value of test1 disappeared - the field test2 disappeared Bernard Ribot
Well, as I suspected, this is in fact a longstanding known problem from the design of OOo : http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=108100 See comment #3 from Frank Schönheit. He was one of the OOo Devs for a long time... Alex
