Description wouldsmina 2011-06-15 02:28:16 UTC
Overview:
when creating a table, it's not possible to put a default value regardless of the data type (except varchar).

Steps to Reproduce:
1) create a new table (test) (free mode)
2) create a new integer field (test1) with a default value
3) create a second integer field (test2) with a default value
4) save and close the windows
5) open the table in edit mode
- The default value of test1 disappeared
- the field test2 disappeared

Hmm, I was going to say this was already a known bug, but I can't find the corresponding report. I know that this happens, it has been reported on the English user list.

My understanding is that you can set the default at the Form level, in the properties of the control corresponding to the field for which you wish to set a default, but the underlying field default setting is currently ignored.

I had already tried to put a default value in input fields on a form, but the default is not displayed (which seems normal, the field displays the contents of the record: "null")

Hello,

I confirm with LibO 3.4.1 :

- The default value of test1 disappeared
- the field test2 disappeared

Well, as I suspected, this is in fact a longstanding known problem from the design of OOo :

See comment #3 from Frank Schönheit. He was one of the OOo Devs for a long time...

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
